Our Story: A Return to Roots
At Nivaha, our story didn't start in a laboratory. It began in a Chennai household, on an ordinary evening when my skin had finally given up on every promise the beauty industry had ever made.
After years of battling redness, burning, and exhaustion from constantly switching between "clean" brands, I hit my lowest point. So, I called my paati (grandmother).
"She didn't ask me which brand I was using. She asked if I'd tried paasi payaru (green gram) — the exact same thing she had been grinding and applying to her face her entire life."
Within two weeks, my skin was calmer than it had been in years. That single moment sent me searching: What else have we forgotten? What were South Indian women using before the beauty industry told us we needed something from a lab?
